Coverage area 05GTM & Sales Leverage
Coverage of the revenue engine: prospecting and outbound automation, RevOps tooling, AI-assisted selling, and the pipeline generated per head. This is the noisiest claim environment in our coverage, so the standard of evidence here is deliberately the highest we apply anywhere.
Does AI-augmented go-to-market raise revenue per seller, or only raise activity per seller?
Sample Data
Three figures from this area's dataset, in the form they publish in.
Illustrative sample — these figures show the structure of the dataset and the form a published finding takes. They are not published findings. Sourced figures publish with the report, each carrying an openable source.
Those last two figures sit together deliberately. Volume went up more than fivefold and qualified pipeline did not move — that is the central finding of this coverage area, and it is the opposite of what the category sells. Activity leverage is not revenue leverage.
What We Track
- Revenue per GTM head and per seller, by sector and size band
- Qualified pipeline per seller — the quality-side counterweight to volume
- GTM stack composition and cost per seller per month
- Sales roles opened, closed, and not backfilled
- Whether the company measures pipeline quality at all
In scope
- Outbound, prospecting, and sequencing automation
- RevOps tooling, forecasting, and pipeline hygiene
- AI-assisted selling — call intelligence, research, follow-up
- Revenue per seller and pipeline per GTM head
Not covered
- Brand and creative agency services
- Paid media buying platforms
Adoption Depth Rubric — 0 to 5
The Leverage Index scores automation and agent adoption depth at 25% of the composite, applied as a 0–5 rubric to each coverage area and then averaged. This is that rubric for this area. A capability scores above 2 only if it is in production, used at least weekly, and displacing or avoiding a named role — not piloted, not licensed-and-idle. See the full inputs and weighting →
Revenue depends on one person's network and calendar.
Deals are tracked. Data entry is manual and behind.
Outbound and follow-up are automated. Targeting is still generic.
Account research and personalization are machine-assisted and measurably better-converting.
Pipeline quality — not activity — is the measured output. A GTM role was not backfilled.
Revenue per seller improves quarter over quarter without added GTM headcount.
C.A.S.E. in This Area
The same four-stage method runs in all six coverage areas. Here is what each stage actually does in this one.
Vendor pricing and packaging pages, sales job postings and closures, disclosed customer counts, case study claims, and briefing submissions — all collected with the source passage retained.
Vendor case-study numbers are the least reliable claim class we ingest. Each is checked for a stated baseline, a stated period, and a stated sample. Missing any of the three, it is flagged and never enters a benchmark cut.
The GTM leverage benchmark, and the activity-versus-outcome research note that separates volume gains from revenue gains.

Sample Insights
Findings in the form we publish them: each one carries a confidence level, and the ones the evidence does not yet support are labeled open rather than quietly dropped.
Outbound volume automation without targeting improvement produces more activity and no more pipeline. It is the most consistent negative finding in our corpus.
Machine-assisted account research does move conversion. The gain is in the targeting stage, not the sending stage — and the market sells the sending stage.
Companies that instrument pipeline quality before automating volume hold the gain. Companies that do the reverse mostly rebuild the motion within a year.
